Risk Tip: Driving in a Work Zone - Laureate Insurance Partners Risk Tip: Driving in a Work Zone - Laureate Insurance Partners

Driving around Florida, we all know that construction on the roadways seems to be a never-ending thing. To keep everyone safe, we urge you and all drivers to pay attention to construction zones signs, traffic cones, and barricades when driving through a work zone. Please read some of below safety tips provided by Central Florida Expressway Authority:

Take turns when merging

Use the “zipper” merge when two traveling lanes are merging into one. Learn more here.

Drive slow

Speeds are limited when inside a work zone. Keep an eye out for the posted speed limit; driving slow can help keep everyone on the road safe.

Keep your eyes on the road

When workers are present, keeping your eyes on the road allows you to stay alert and decreases chances of injury.

Move over, it’s the law

Whenever an emergency vehicle is stopped on the side of the road, it’s important to move over to the other side of the road to prevent any injury (or a ticket).
